Transition Bondi

Transition Bondi is a community group in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, Australia, who embrace the principles of the global Transition Town movement.  Through workshops and events, such as the monthly Dig Day at our recently refurbished community garden, a farmers market stall offering Free Bike Tune-ups and maintenance education as well as our monthly Film & Feast evenings where we provide a three course meal of local pesticide-free produce together with an educational film or presentation, Transition Bondi brings people together to share, learn and be active in creating a more sustainable local community.

We are affiliated with the Happy Fish Project [ ], Blue Bondi Green, Responsible Runners Bondi [ ] and also actively participate in the annual Plastic Free July events together with other local groups and Waverly Council.

A Steering Group comprising core members and others seconded from time to time, meets twice monthly to review events past and to plan forward as well as meeting quarterly when we look beyond the monthly events to future events.

We rely on people volunteering their time and skills, contributing their energy to support our vision and mission.  Our operations activities include social media and marketing, arranging films and public screening licences, posting events for on line booking, preparating food and cooking, facilitation and adult learning, managing volunteers to ensure events are properly staffed.

From time to time, people from other countries visiting Bondi search for a local group that gives them an opportunity to continue their involvement with a group similar to those in their home town.  We welcome visitors from all over the globe who want to join with us.

If you would like to join in with us at our events and activities to help us meet our objectives, please contact us on This email address is being protected from spambots.
